STEM-Robotics Instructor

Bricks 4 Kidz Kendall is currently looking for a STEM - ROBOTICS Instructor for our hands-on Summer Camp.

If you love to engage with kids, using FUN, inspiring, hands-on methods, to teach kids STEM, using LEGO bricks, motors, and battery packs. You bring the experience working with the kids, and we will teach you to build with LEGO bricks, in a fun and engaging way.

The most important part of our job is having FUN, while making a tremendous impact on kids, as they learn Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, in a fun and engaging way!

ABOUT YOU

  • You love playing with Legos and kids!
  • You like working in varied locations
  • You have a flexible schedule
  • You are energetic, patient, disciplined
  • You are comfortable teaching and controlling a class of 10-20 elementary aged students
  • Willingness to drive to various locations

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Teach between 1 to 3 hours long.
  • Maintaining and transporting class equipment and materials including computers and Legos
  • Attending staff meetings
  • Learn our curriculum and knowledge of the concepts we teach
  • Remotely prepare for classes

REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledge on Lego Robotics (EV3 and NXT) is a PLUS
  • Must be able to pass a background check through the Miami Dade School Board and fingerprinting
  • Must have a smartphone and have basic knowledge of Windows-based computers
  • Must have own transportation as public transportation is not always an option.
  • Must be responsible and reliable - available Monday through Friday - weekend availability is a plus

EXPERIENCE (any of the following areas is a plus)

  • Fundamental understanding of mechanisms (gears, pulleys, motors, levers, etc)
  • First Lego League, FRC Teams is a PLUS
  • Teaching
  • Substitute Teaching
  • Summer camp instructing
  • Day Care
  • Non-Lego Robotics
  • Programming
  • Animation

If you enjoy working with children aged 4 - 13 and need a part-time position this job opportunity is for you! Hours can vary from 7 - 20 hours per week during the school year, and up to 30 hours per week, during the summer.

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $10.00 /hour
